HOLIDAY CARD IN A FLASH
If any of you are like me, putting off sending cards is a way of life, until you receive a card from someone you dearly want to answer. I put this card together in less than 10 minutes.
I started with cutting out the tree and the swirly layer from the Christmas Cartridge Provo Craft was so dear as to allow me to download to my Gypsy for free! I cut using white cardstock then colored with Copic markers. I then added a splash of ART INSTITUTE GLTTER made right here in Cottonwood, Arizona.
The backround paper is from the Provo Craft Celebrations 6x12 paper collection.
I printed the sentiment on my computer and cut it out using the SU punch oval punch and cut the scalloped oval also using a SU scalloped oval punch.
I did the same thing on the inside only changed the sentiment to GOOD WILL TO ALL!
I then added some Walmart ribbon and there it is!! Finished in less than 10 minutes.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!! I really do put Peace on Earth on the top of my Christmas wish list.
Thank you to all of those who are away from their families this season serving in the Armed Forces!!!

NEXT CRICUT CLASS SCHEDULED FOR JANUARY 8TH
This time we will cover Design Studio and anything from the basics to the use of the pens in the Expression or Personal machines. I will work with each student indivdually, so this class size will be limited. I will also be teaching classes in Cottonwood as soon as the reservations for class start pouring in. If you are interested, and do not own a machine, I will have one available for a slightly increased fee (10 dollars more) I will then furnish the necessary consumables for you. There will only be one machine available per class, so please contact me at cornvillecountrycrafts@gmail.com or by phone 928-649-8880.
Gavin's First Birthday
Yes, I did buy a Cricut Mini Cake Machine! Actually two, one to try and sell on Ebay to help pay for the one for class. Since my daughter,Tiffany, had long ago declared she ws making the cake for Gavin's Birthday, I backed off on interferring. I did, however, make some awesome decorations for the cake, put them in the freezer and then we drove off to Mesa leaving them still in the freezer!!
So much for the best laid plans of mice and men!! Tiffany did a marvelous job herself, so I will have to give her a big hand. The family has dubbed her "Mini Martha"!

My husband, Raymond, came up with some great ideas though for decorating the Little Tykes black pick-up truck that was to be his present. I used my Cricut to cut out his name, his daddy's business logo (Dotworkz.com) and German for goodbye on the tailgate!! This was for his German grandparents in Germany. I added the "Autobahn Cowboy" on the front but then discovered I spelt it wrong. I will correct it and bring it to San Diego when we go over there for Christmas. I have included a few pictures for your viewing pleasure. The Cricut was used on his birthday mobile and the car. Just a few ideas for anyone to use, if they so desire. To cut out the letters for the car, I used red vinyl on the tailgate. Then I tried out the new Cricut printable vinyl for the rest. It is white and I think, a bit thicker. I loved working with it, it cuts out beautifully and I used my Copic markers to color the Dotworkz logo blue. This stuff takes the Copics beautifully!!! I was so pleased with the results, and of course, it has adhesive backing so you can stick it on anything!!! One more thing, I cut some to the 81/2 x 11" AND RAN IT THRU MY PRINTER! The results were amazing. The sheets come in 12 x 12 inches.

CRICUT CLASS ON SATURDAY NOVEMBER 20TH
This time we will delve into usng Design Studio on the laptop computer. It is so easy to use, I think the class will be pleasantly surprised by the ability to see the layout, adjust sizes, and weld images together using this program. In fact, for anyone not sure about buying the program or a Cricut (for that matter) can download a free version of Design Studio by going to http://www.cricut.com/CDS/DesignStudioTrial1.aspx
For anyone just starting taking my classes, I will be happy to offer the Basic beginner or intermediate class at the same time. Just email me at cornvillecountrycrafts@gmail.com or call at 928-649-8880
You wil be able to play with the program and look at all of the cartridges out there even by naming an image you might be looking for, BUT you will not be able to cut any images until buying the software. It should run around 40 dollars online and 60 in stores.
PS No, I do not work for Provo Craft, but I sure would like to!!!

Honorable Mention in Copicmarkerscrapbooking.com Challenge
The challenge was to use the acorn digi download from cms site to create a Thanksgiving card. I used a brown paper sack for the backround and distressed it using Stamping Up Ink. The Turkey Day Digi I created myself using GIMP on the computer.

Cricut Class #2 in Cornville
Yesterday was a beautiful day for the class and I want to thank all who attended. We covered cutting stencil material, use of the Cricut pens, cutting Grungeboard and chipboard but we had the most fun cutting the vinyl. We must remember to change to the deep-cutting blade before cutting the Tim Holtz's Grungeboard!! 16 cuts was abit much for Julie before we realized we forgot to change the blade!! Called learning the hard way!!!
Stampendous Sketch Challenge 30
Here is my entry for the Stampenduous Sketch Challenge. I used 2 digi stamps from the copicmarkerscrapbooking.com Thanksgiving Digi-stamp collection. I colored the cornocopia using Copic markers, of course, but too numerous to list. The word Harvest (also from the Thanksgiving collection) has been altered using GIMP downloaded program to match the backround to the Provo-craft paper from the Earthtones Collection. The checkered paper is from SU and the ribbon is from cosmocricket.com Trim-Trmeree Vintage #33 collection. The solid paper was run throught the Cuttlebug embossing folder, Foral Fantasy.
This was a fun challlenge was sent to me by Jennifer from Just4funcrafts, I really appreciated the heads up because it gave me Sunday to work on this project.
Happy Halloween everybody.

2 Copies of Pumpkin Boy digi by Dove
I colored the image on the left with Prismacolor Pencils and the one on the right with Copic markers.
I was curious to see how the two images compare. Let me know what you think! The one on the right appears to have less exposure from the camera, hence it is slightly darker.

contest card for the Magnolia-Licious highlights contest
The card needed to include a Magnolia stamp image (which was easy because I love the products), and a food element. I used the Tilda stamp and my cricut to furnish the cupcake (Birthday Cake Cart).
I colored the images with Copic markers from Copicmarkerscrapbooking.com. The cupcake is sprinkled with glitter from the Art Institute made in Cottonwood, Airzona.
The paper is from Michaels and the punches from SU.

I JUST ORDERED THE FREE MARKERS I WON FROM COPICMARKERSCRAPBOOKING
I just placed my request in for the free markers. I went for the 6 Cia since they do the same things the Sketch markers do except they don't come in the vast array of colors that the Sketch do. I then orderd some additional Sketch markers and totally messed up by ordering two that I already had. I hope they can fix that for me, I sent Gordy an email asking to exchange a couple of colors for a couple different ones. They are so user friendly but I know it messes up the system to have to make changes.
It is a cloudy day in San Diego but Ray tells me it is 75 and sunny at home in Arizona. I am glad for them because today is the Grand Opening Picnic in the Park for our new local Cornville Food Bank. I hope they do real well with the raffle. I am sorry to be missing the party bcause I plan on volunteering there when I get back in town. I actually did make up the flyers for them to distribute before I left. That was the least I could do for such a good cause.

Entry for the Copicmarkerscrapbooking Sentiment contest
I used my Magnolia cowgirl stamp. I love these stamps, they are made in Sweden and are kindof pricey but they are so much fun to color. I then colored the image with Copic markers and distressed the Sentiment Image with SU ink.
The inside card was made with my Cricut and the Cricut Cake Cartridge.

Cards I made over the weekend
The Cricut class on Saturday reminded me that my son and daughter-in-law have an anniversary coming up and I have a new neighor buiding a house that is very nice and visible from my house ( we are on a hill and look down on his place). So I put together a couple of cards using Magnolia stamps, Squigglefly downloaded image and, of course, my copics!!

FIRST CRICUT CLASS WAS A BLAST!!
We really did seem to have a great time. Thank you Gina and Lauri for driving all the way down from Flagstaff. Thank you, Julie, for representing Cottonwood.
I am hopeful that the word will spread about the Cornville Cricut Classes and I can make more new friends. We covered the basics and I even learned a few things since I always use the Design Studio program and tend to ignore some of the basic funtions of the machine.
The next class will be held on Saturday, October 30th at 1PM. We will cover additional info on the basics as well as cutting other materials such as vinyl.

Going to Vancouver in 5 days!
I am spending Labor Day weekend getting ready for what looks to be a fantastic experience. My kids (Will and his gorgeous wife Wibke) decided that since we were not together for my husband, Ray's, birthday and Tiffany and my birthdays are in a few weeks (Sept 20 and 21st) they would treat us all to a week's vacation at Whistler in Vancouver, Canada. Ray and I are flying from Phoenix to Seattle on Thurs Sept 9th and they are flying to Seattle from San Diego on that day at around that same time. We will all meet (hopefully we don't get stuck when we change planes in Las Vegas), then they rented a car for all 6 of us to drive to Canada. They rented a house there, how exciting. I will get to be with all of them and Sandy and my brother are taking turns at house and petsitting for us us while we are gone. We never get to go anywhere together without their help because of the dogs, cat, garden ect. This is so special!! Will wanted us to go on the ride that takes you down the mountain in a harness on a suspension rope( don't have a clue what it is called) but if he really wants to surprise me, I have always admired hot air balloons and a ride in one would be a dream come true. But if not, the trip alone is enough. I have the hot air balloon ride on my bucket list and hoefully I have a few more good years left!! I will pack a few markers and paper with images to relax with when I have down time!!

San Diego Time
The weather has been cloudy until yesterday so I was glad to be at the office all week. Yesterday got up did some work and set out for new adventures with my friend, Betsyjo. Of course, visiting Michael's was on the list of things to do and places to see. Saw Toy Story 3 in 3 D and loved it! Had lunch at Mimi's Cafe. Finished off the day with a bike ride in the evening with Will, Wibke and Gavin. Watched the sunset over Dog Beach, beautiful!!
